I.S. Mäkinen Oy (Ltd.) established its own sales and project management subsidiary, Makinen Inc., to Florida, USA in 2000. The Miami-area is the center for the cruise industry, with the presence of the major cruise companies and architects. Florida is also the largest boat manufacturing state in the USA as well and having the most mega yachts in the world. Makinen, Inc. concentrates on the refurbishment of cruise ships, mega yachts and the manufacturing of interiors for boats, yachts and hotels.
